Student Visa Application Guide
All overseas students coming to Grafton College of Management Sciences must have a valid international passport and many will need a visa before travelling to the UK. The British Government determines the list of ‘visa-national' countries. Your nearest British Embassy or Consulate will be able to tell you whether you need a visa, also known as ‘entry clearance'. For further information you can also visit www.ukvisas.gov.uk
Visa Nationals
As a visa national you should consider one of the three study visa options below:
· Tier 4 General Student Visa - For adults who want to come to the UK for their post-16 education.
· Student Visitor Visa (SVV) - For adults who want to study a short course of up to 6 months in the UK.
· Extended Student Visitor Visa (ESVV) – For adults who want to study an English language course of up to 11 months in the UK.
Guidance on how to make an application as a Tier 4 General Student from outside the UK or as a SVV or ESVV applicant can be found on the website of the UK Border Agency at http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas-immigration/studying/
Please remember Grafton College cannot apply for a visa on your behalf. However we provide you with the required College acceptance documentation (such as a Confirmation of Accpetance for Studies (CAS) for Tier 4 applicants or an acceptance letter for SVV or ESVV applicants) once you have been formally accepted to study at Grafton College.
Please speak to one of our admissions officers for further advice or visit the immigration section on the UKCISA website at http://www.ukcisa.org.uk/student/information_sheets.php
